General AI Settings

TL;DR:

  • Turn on AI features for the workspace to use AI Agent nodes in scenarios.
  • Set workspace-wide defaults like default Agent Preset, memory settings, and default Knowledge Bases.

Overview

The General AI Settings page serves as the workspace-wide configuration center. These defaults automatically apply to any AI Agent node in your scenarios unless they are explicitly overridden inside the node itself.

Location: Workspace Settings → AI Settings → General Settings

Configuration Settings

Enable AI Features

  • What it does: Turns all AI features on or off for the entire workspace.
  • Why it matters: If disabled, presets and Knowledge Bases remain configured but AI execution will not occur in scenarios.

Default Agent Preset

  • What it does: Selects the preset used when an AI Agent node does not choose a specific one.
  • Why it matters: Ensures consistent behavior across multiple bots without manually configuring every node.

Enable Conversation Memory

  • What it does: Allows the AI to remember recent messages in a conversation.
  • Why it matters: Essential for back-and-forth conversational assistants.

Memory Max Characters

  • What it does: Limits the amount of chat history context stored in memory.
  • Why it matters: Higher values improve conversation continuity but increase token usage.

Enable RAG (Knowledge Base)

  • What it does: Allows the AI to search connected Knowledge Bases to answer questions.
  • Why it matters: Connects the AI to your custom company or product data.

Max Knowledge Base Items

  • What it does: Restricts the maximum number of knowledge documents retrieved per request.
  • Why it matters: Restricting this ensures the AI stays focused on the most relevant information.

Default Knowledge Bases

  • What it does: Automatically connects selected Knowledge Bases when RAG is enabled.
  • Why it matters: Great for common workspace info needed in many scenarios.

Troubleshooting

The AI ignores my document content

  1. Verify Enable RAG (Knowledge Base) is enabled.
  2. Check that the correct Knowledge Base is selected under Default Knowledge Bases or overridden in the scenario node.
  3. Ensure the documents inside the Knowledge Base show an Indexed status.
